Classes have been long and intense much like Monday. The lectures have been way beyond me and I feel really dumb. Basically the only time I've been able to thrive and feel somewhat capable are the 1.5 hours we get each day to do any random tours we would like to do. On Tuesday we went to the Ashmolean museum to do a tour of the history of money display they have there. The money exhibit was pretty neat but the tour was really uninformative. I only have these two pictures from that trip... oops.

On Wednesday, we had a little bit more time so a bunch of us went to a bakery and I got a yummy raspberry cupcake. I talked Jennifer and Jane to come eat with me under one of the big memorials. I basically told them how I thought that chilling on a historic site eating yummy food and people watching was the real European experience. I think they were antsy to do stuff.

We then ran into the Ashmolean to check out the Pre Raphaelite paintings. Earlier during class, Dr. Kerry was giving options of things to do during our time off. He specifically pointed me out to tell me that I needed to go check out the Pre Raphaelite paintings at the Ashmolean to see the ginger haired goddesses, and everyone laughed not realizing that Dr. Kerry wasn't being funny and that I had written a paper on the history of the perceptions of red hair and I referenced the Pre Raphaelites. Anyhow, Jennifer and I ran to rind them while we still had a little bit of time.

I love bronzes! |
We had another late night lecture with Dr. Christensen that night, and I wanted to do something fun. Most of the kids were going to the Eagle where C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien hung out but I came out too late and the crowd had already left. Thankfully, a group of girls that I don't usually hang out with were still there. We didn't know where to go and Julie, the LDS MBA student suggested we go to Turf Tavern where Bill Clinton famously didn't inhale. I ordered the fish and chips and it was the best I've ever had pretty much. Matt, Kailey and I decided to have an ugly face contest which was really fun! The sad thing is that I blew everyone else out of the waters... I am ashamed that I'm so good at being ugly. But I got to bond with Matt, Stephanie, and Kailey a lot more. Matt is really funny and crazy. Kailey is a rogue like me, and Stephanie is just such a kind sweetheart. It was a really good time. Also there were Jane, Tom (every girl's crush. They call him Clark Kent), Sophie, and McKenna. I get along with all of them, too. Tom is a boss. It's no wonder all the ladies like him. Not only is he pretty handsome but he's genuinely nice to everybody, even really hyper quirky girls like me. And McKenna and Sophie and I bonded over our past struggles in life.

Well I hope classes ease up on my this next week and I hope we get more time for these fun excursions! I'm sure I'll learn a lot from these classes, so I'm really glad I'm here to take them. I'll just take these fun excursions while I can!
